F10 and cartridge selected behavior

Added by 917k over 7 years ago

I notice when I select a .CAR file from the system menu, it works the first time but it does not seem to survive a F10 cold boot and will boot into BASIC instead of the selected CAR. In fact it seems you have to do a physical reset for it to run any further CAR files without rebooting into BASIC.

Yeah, Nir mentioned this one (http://www.64kib.com/redmine/issues/25).

I will fix it...

I also notice that I get a complete system lockup on some carts now! e.g. Galaxian

No Mark. Nir have mentioned this for a real cartridge not a .car loaded file.

@917k

After the first time which you have load a .car file, if you need to load / boot another one, you must press the F12 and unload it with left cursor key first, and after to load the same or some other using the right cursor key. If you want just to unload it, use the left cursor key, then choose and press exit and F10 for a cold boot in Basic.

Thanks Panos, that works. What do you think about having it automatically unload an existing cartridge if a new one is selected? Seems a little more intuitive that way.

Actually I was hoping someone could pick up firmware development so I can work on the hardware...
