I'd be tempted to put freezer somewhere it won't be pressed by mistake. Do we need paddle mode?

So these keyboard behave like a normal USB keyboard. Are they just stickers or actual special keycaps?

Another mock-up, this time showing my XE styled keyboard design...

My plan is to have keycaps made at the WASD site. I verified that they can do full-color (like the 400 design) printing on the keycaps as well as monochrome (like the XE design). I posted in another topic some keyboard changes/additions that might be good to make to fill-in some of the blank keys. As for paddle mode, if we don't need it I can certainly get rid of it. I am going off the core pdf documentation for the keymap. The one thing I really want to avoid is having the keyboard layout change after I have keycaps made. I plan to make the files available to the group at some point so anybody can get keycap sets made... or stickers if that is what you prefer.

Can they make some kind of 'flat covers' for the ones we aren't using?

Not that I know of, although that thought did cross my mind as well.

I think as is now, the 400 one look very nice and practical on eye!

Both designs are beautiful. I've been using a WASD Code keyboard (Cherry Green, white LED backlight) for a long time now. Absolutely fantastic KB to type on. My only complaint is the keycaps are losing their black paint, so the backlight is really shining through.

Thank you. It is fun doing these, although they do take a while to put together. I'm going to have the 400 set made as soon as the Eclaire keyboard layout is finalized and set in stone. I want to make sure everything looks good and lines up properly before uploading the files.
