I was attempting to test my MIO, but unfortunately, the PBI cable on the MIO will not fit the daughter board. I will attempt to post a picture as well as take measurements. The issue is the space between the PBI and joystick ports is too narrow.

The connector looks like it requires 4.75mm, and the PCB has about 3.7. I will file this opening larger so that I can test the MIO. If we could have that extra 1 to 1.5mm, everything will be OK.

Confirmed. 4.75mm gap and the MIO plugs in fine. I do not have a drive to test it with, but hitting SELECT+RESET brings up the config menu. I am able to navigate the menu.

Thanks, very helpful. I'm pleased the MIO seems to be working too so far. Adjusting the PCB by a couple of mm seems ok for the next revision. Did you have to file the joystick port too a little?

Nope - literally 1mm of PCB trimmed down, and I recreated the 45 degree angle on that side. Perfect fit with no force required.
I'll need to do more testing with MIO plugged in though, as I seemed to be experiencing some NAKs accessing SIO devices. I doubt I'll have time for more testing this evening though.

External sio or the internal drives?
I'm aware of some internal sio drive issues, seems to get stuck in a bad state.

External drives. My setup is a USB based SIO2PC device from Steve Tucker (AtariMax), running a registered version of APE on the PC. I'm a bit hesitant to trust my testing of the MIO too much, as this is literally the first time I have ever powered on the device. Before I post any bugs with it, I need to test out the device on one of my real machines and see how it behaves.
